Planning our trip to Transylvania

We have nearly done it!

After doing lots of online research, I have come up with the following plan:

Brebu Nou (our starting point, due to the Beta Bikes event).
Sibiu, (European Cultural Capital of 2007) visit of the town and time permitting, the ASTRA Museum
Stop at SOS Children’s Village in Cisnadie
Brașov, visit of the town
Libearty Bear Sanctuary (details here)
Râșnov Fortress
Rupea Citadel
Viscri Fortified Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Saschiz Fortified Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Sighișoara (UNESCO World Heritage Site), visit of the town
Săliștea de Sus wooden church
Vișeu de Sus, including the Mocănița (the steam train)
Ieud wooden church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Barsana wooden church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Săpânța, visit of the Merry Cemetery.

After that, we will drive back to Munich. I am still planning the stops we will do, but I am keen on stopping at some Hungarian thermal baths (still searching for one which is on our route, most probably it will be one in Nyírbátor).

The last stop will be near Vienna.

What I would like to add to our itinerary (time permitting!):

Biertan Fortified Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Prejmer Fortified Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
Memorial of the Victims of Communism and of the Resistance

At present, I have not included Bran Castle because, according to the information I have collected so far, it is too touristy for my liking. Will I regret it???

We have also not included the famous Transfăgărășan (click here for more details) because it is still closed in May. What a pity!!!!! But perhaps this is a reason why we will go back to Transylvania!
